Pisgah AVL Hosts Avolites Titan Lighting Console Training

As Western North Carolina’s trusted audio, video, and lighting company, we’re committed to empowering lighting designers with the knowledge and skills they need to create captivating visual scenes on stage. February 20 – 23, 2024 we hosted an exclusive training session on the Avolites Titan lighting console in the Pisgah AVL warehouse to equip attendees with the tools to unleash their creativity onto unsuspecting audiences of any size at any venue.

This three day class was a deep dive into fixture patching, positions, color palettes, pixel mapping, beam intensities, chases, cues, Ai and timecode using a Titan Tiger 2 with the information applicable across all Avolites consoles. Leaving no stone unturned and no options menus unopened, every inch of this board was discussed, explored and experimented with to ensure total understanding by the end of the training.

The class was taught by product specialist Kade Behm. Kade has been a lighting professional for 29 years and an Avo user since 1996. For the last seven years, he has been Avo’s trainer and support in the USA. Kade started his career in nightclubs and moved on to touring and has lit everything from presidents to royalty, motorcycles to tractors, and everything in between. You name it and he’s probably pointed a light at it!

A print-out of all the information provided during the workshop was distributed to everyone in attendance for future reference. There was also the option of a discounted rate on a T1 USB DMX interface to allow you to practice all your new knowledge at home or on the road.

The class consisted of twelve lighting designers from many professional backgrounds including concert venues, touring bands and houses of worship. Whether they were just starting out or seasoned pros expanding their knowledge, this class provided a wealth of information to take everyone’s shows to the next level. Not only was the class great for learning the technical side of lighting board programming, but also for expanding the community of lighting designers in the area.
